CONFIRMED: Kwesi Appiah names his 23-man squad for AFCON2019

This is the official 23-man squad that will hold the flag of Ghana high at the upcoming 2019 African cup of nations in Egypt.


Coach James Kwesi Appiah head of the technical team named his final 23 out of the 29-man at the camp.

Big man like Majeed Waris, is missing in the list as U-23 striker Kwabena Owusu, takes his position after he made his first appearance for the senior national team on Sunday against Namibia.

Other missing players are  Mohammed Alhassan and Abdul Fatawu all from Ghana league, Musah Nuhu, Ebenezer Ofori and Yaw Yeboah.


For Nuhu, he pulled out of the squad after sustaining a knee injury during training.

Asamoah Gyan (Kayserispor, Turkey), Jordan Ayew (Crystal Palace, England), Caleb Ekuban (Trabzonspor, Turkey and Kwabena Owusu (Leganes, Spain).
Ghana are in group F with defending champion Cameroon, Guinea-Bissau and Benin.


Ghana's opening match will be against Benin on 25 June at the Ismailia Stadium.
